Here’s what is on the Court’s calendar for this week:

• Last Day of the Fiscal Year (Wednesday): August 31st is the end of the fiscal year in Texas, as well as the traditional cutoff for the official court statistics. It is not unprecedented for opinions to be released on this day, even when it does not fall on a Friday.

• Weekly Orders List (Friday): The smart money says there will be fewer than 19 opinions this week.
